You can see in this picture my exclusive analysis rig.
There's some dynamic contrast going on but besides that I can tell you already that Sony stepped up big time in panel quality compared to the Z, Z1 but also Z1 compact and Z Ultra.

Your analysis rig contains a PS3 controller? 😉
Did they let you analyze it like that, at the show ?
And: were you granted access to the phone and install some app that changes images/color/luminosity of the screen? :O
+Matteo Mori Yes people at Sony booth are really cool, actually the first guy we talked to recognized both +Erica Griffin and I for videos and display devs.
Its interesting to see that there's quite a bit of variations between displays, in terms of color vibrancy and even viewing angles.
Some are better than others.
+Matteo Mori I don't need to install anything to measure the display, only wi-fi and a browser 🙂
Oh, I didn't consider the smart move of the browser. Congrats. 🙂
And let us know about the screen. After the major let down of Z(1) , I hope Sony has finally released a serious competitor for the Android crown.
ubuntu-phablet? What's that running on it?
That's really interesting. I hope Erica will make a hands-on video soon.
+Sinan Çetinkaya that's right, I use an Ubuntu phablet currently to plug both spectrophotometer and colorimeter, then driven by my analysis and calibration app.
was just wondering when you'd be doing this 🙂
Look forward for your analysis, been waiting for sony to sort this out for years.
+François Simond How is Ubuntu performing?
+Alejandro Morales Lepe not so good but it works for what I need right now 🙂
Hi Francois will you test the audio output as well?
+Ka Lam Chan no audio test yet, I might during the 2 remaining days however it's not a priority as I don't expect anything interesting here.
